MageZone
About
I made MageZone in 3 hours for Trijam #270 (Not including time spent planning, gathering assets and figuring out why gamemaker is so annoying at exporting in html). The game is fully playable featuring 3 different enemy types, 3 different spells and a score counter, I wasn't able to add all of the features I wanted such as an upgrade system but I might improve the project at a later date.

Controls
- WASD - Walk
- Left Click - Shoot
- R - Restart
----------------------------------------------
How To Play
The Basics
- The arena is split up into different coloured zones
- The spell you are using changes based on the colour of the zone you are in
- Enemies also change colour based on the zone they are in
- You can only damage enemies by using a spell that is the same colour as the enemy
Spells
Enemies
Have Fun
- The higher your score the harder the game will get so be prepared!
- My record so far is 129, let me know if you can beat it
- Also kind of goes without saying, but the game should be played in fullscreen

Oooh! I really like the concept of both you and the enemy changing depending on the tile! It's really cool!
I did not like having to use the weapon of the correct color to kill the enemy. The main reason is because I almost never got a chance to use the orange machine gun! Since the enemies are flying around at random, it's hard to predict where they will step next, and only the purple weapon has a range that lets you stay safe.
I would have personally liked it more if the enemies had similar patterns to yours (spread of bullets in orange, charged shot on green and long range shots on purple) and there was no color matching immunity.
That said, I really enjoyed the concept! Nice job!
Thanks for playing. That is a really good idea, I might experiment with that later :)
It's funny, i actually am making a game for the jam where there is a system where only some enemies can be damaged by spells, and the main character is a wizard. besides that it's very different, though.
